Conspiracy theories in post-war Armenia

In times of crisis, conspiracy theories rise to the occasion by presenting to the public their versions of alternative reality. These theories are considered dangerous from the point of view of public security, human rights and democracy.

In order to understand conspiracy theories, to identify them, to fight against them, it is very possible to study their roots and purposes.
Recently, due to the war and epidemic, conspiracy theories have been spread aggressively in Armenia, which hinder the normal life of the society and possible coexistence.
On May 26, at 16:00, the Media Center organized a webinar on conspiracy theories, the expert-guest of which was Levon Babajanyan, Candidate of Philosophy, YSU Lecturer.
The following topics were presented during the webinar:

- How to identify conspiracy theories?
- Why are conspiracy theories dangerous?

On July 7, at 11:00 am, the Media Center hosted an interview-press conference with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Netherlands to Armenia Nicholas Schermers on "Armenia-Netherlands Bilateral Relations in the Context of the Comprehensive Extended Partnership Agreement".

The interview was part of the Armenia-EU agreement, the program of collective monitoring of civil society. The aim is to promote public awareness of the EU-Armenia relations and to present the benefits of that cooperation to the citizens of the Republic of Armenia.
