Debate: ‘Vilnius Summit: Political Defeat or New Opportunity for Armenia?’

It is important that the Vilnius Summit delivers a message that the EU will continue to strengthen its relations with partner countries. Such statement was made by Alexander Arzumanyan at the TV debate entitled ‘Vilnius Summit: Political Defeat or New Opportunity for Armenia?’

Davit Shahnazaryan, head of ‘Agreement’ center, believes that Armenia will sign a non-binding declaration. ‘Armenia will do whatever Russia is willing to allow’ adding ‘If Armenia joined the Customs Union, it would be another Russian military basement.’

The speakers of the debate included Alexander Arzumanyan, MP, “Heritage” Faction of National Assembly; Hovhannes Sahakyan, secretary, “Republican Party of Armenia” Faction of National Assembly; Khosrov Harutyunyan, MP, “Republican Party of Armenia” Faction of National Assembly; Davit Shahnazaryan, head, ‘Agreement’ center; Alexander Iskandaryan, director, the Caucasus Institute, political scientist; andManvel Sargsyan, director, Armenian Centre for National and International Studies, political analyst.
