The Corruption Perception Index of Armenia Is not Improved

Struggle against corruption is not only a function of authorities, it is necessary to create a public demand for fight against corruption. With respect to corruption perception, there has not been a significant change in Armenia although little progress evolved from the application of e-governance system, but the result is still unsatisfactory.

Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) membership will never benefit Armenia. As a result of one-year negotiations, Armenia is now in economic and political isolation.
The speakers at the Media Center initiated online debate entitled “EEU Membership: Security or Economic Regress” included: Zoya Tadevosyan (Associate Professor at the Chair of International Economic Relations at ASUE, Doctor of Economics), Atom Margaryan (Dean of the Department of Regulation of Economy and International Economic Relations at ASUE), Gharib Harutyunyan (Head of Compass research center, Economics PhD), Vardan Bostanjyan (Doctor of Economics, professor), Hovhannes Igityan (former head of the NA Committee of International Relations, international expert), and Ashot Yeghiazaryan (economist expert).

“The concept of "maternity benefit" will also provide benefits to nearly 30 million unemployed mothers,” state officials. The lawyers and citizens, who speak against the idea, say that working women should receive maternity benefits, concurrently claiming that the Government's proposed legislative amendment is not the establishment of social justice but a discriminatory approach to working and non-working women.

The Armenian educational system has serious problems, especially in the regions. Migration and a decrease in birth rate led to a severe decline in the number of students in rural schools. As a result, multi-level schools are created during which, a single teacher has to teach first, fifth, third and sometimes fourth and fifth grades all at once. “This violates a child's right to high quality education,” believes Mesrop Ghalachyan, head of Shirak Branch of the National Institute of Education.
