On April 25th, 2014, Media Center held a panel discussion about an upcoming event organized by the "Hye Dzmer Pap" Charitable Foundation and the Hi-Artonline Fine Arts Center. From April 25th to May 23rd, there will be an art exhibit entitled "Art on the Border", which will feature artwork from 15 Armenian artists. The proceeds from the benefit art exhibition will go towards purchasing a fruit and vegetable dryer for the border village of Vazashen.
On April 24, 99th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide will be celebrated in Istanbul and other cities of Turkey. Year by year, these rallies are becoming more and more popular and not only Armenians residing in Turkey attend it, but also big number of Kurds and Turks.
Any mistake in the policy of the Armenian side can create the danger of destruction of Armenian districts in Syria.
Within the three-year civil war in Syria 150.000 people have been killed according to various sources. Numerous Armenians living in Syria are in the epicenter of this humanitarian disaster.
On April 17th, Media Center held a screening of Kessab documentary in the Vanadzor Charles Aznavour Culture House.The film is the first in a series of three that is dedicated to the city. The film-maker, Nane Bagratuny, began this project four years ago, long before the attacks on the city that occurred earlier this month.
The issue of changing Yerevan public transport fares is once again on public agenda. The passenger carriers insist on the inevitability of fare increase, while the citizens question the appropriateness of such a move.
“Foreign policy successes of Armenia are based on mistakes of Turkey and Azerbaijan and the main goal must be taking benefits of those mistakes”, Richard Giragosian, political analyst, said today during “Is Armenia independent in foreign policy decisions” discussion.

“Kessab is the only remaining territory from the historic homeland of Armenia that Armenians can still call home: the compulsory deportations have inflicted pain on not only residents of Kessab, but on all Armenians around the world. Kessab is not merely a part of our past; it is in our present and future,” said a Kessab-resident Hakob Kortmosian, today, after the screening of “Kessab”, the documentary.
Legislative reforms and educational programs for integrating palliative care are elaborated in Armenia. Palliative care is planned to be specified as a health care type and marked in a separate line in the state budget of 2015.
"I officially declare that there is no driver in Armenia who will not be held administratively liable for traffic rules violation. There is no vehicle which will not be registered when exceeding speed limit by traffic safety and speed cameras," Deputy Chief of the Traffic Police Armen Khachatryan said at a debate held by the Media Center entitled: "Traffic Safety and Speed Cameras: safety or additional problems?"

We seized occasion to remind about the Genocide one more time”, Artak Shakaryan, Turkish studies expert said today at the discussion entitled “Kessab Armenians in Latakia: Situation and Challenges” initiated by the Media Center.
“We request the Ministry of Defense (MoD) and the Agency of Medical and Social Examination (AMSE) to apply the reference of disability of the former serviceman Georgi Margarov given by the RA Defense Ministry's Central Military Medical Commission in 2001 and pay his pension,” said Ani Antonyan, Margarov’s lawyer, at the Media Center hosted discussion entitled “Violated Rights of Military Pension: 7 Years of Red Tape.”
The rally organized by “D!em Em” Initiative on March 22 will include speeches by members of 'D!em Em' Initiative as well as speeches by representatives from 4 non-governing factions, MP Nikol Pashinyan and freedom fighter Jirair Sefilian
“The meeting with the leaders of four non-ruling parties will let them smooth out some inaccuracies, overcome some differences and finally speak about the so-called format of four. I hope the meeting will be set up soon”, Raffi Hovhannisian, the leader of “Heritage Party” told the journalists at the press conference, held today at the Media Center.
