Elections of October 2, held in 373 communities of 6 regions of Armenia, were full of violations: representatives of companis and initiatives conducting observation missions expressed such assessment during the press conference at Media Center.
Though the tourism field develops in Armenia and the number of tourists visiting Armenia has grown for 2, 4% during the first six months of this year compared to the same period of the previous year, the problems in this sector still arise. They are the lack of funding of state policy, improper state of the infrastructures, lack of human resources and the issues related to the availability of Armenia for tourists.
A number of violations were recorded during the local self-government (LSG) elections, held on September 18 in 317 communities of 5 regions in Armenia. The representatives of "Citizen-Observer" Initiative and the opposition spoke about these violations during the discussion at Media Center.
The human rights protection in 25-year-old independent Armenia is still far from being proper. There are numerous cases of human rights violations in public, social, political and economic spheres. This is the opinion of human rights defenders who participated in a discussion on the current issues and challenges of human rights protection on September 20 at Media Center.
"Bright Armenia" party will be actively involved in the upcoming local elections planned on September 18 and October 2, and it nominated a total of 53 candidates to ensure the competitiveness in small and large communities.
