September 28 marks the International Safe Abortion Day. A discussion entitled “Instances of Abortion in Armenia: Presentation of Report” was held at Media Center with the participation of Violeta Zopunyan, Chairman of “Center for Rights Development” NGO, Zaruhi Batoyan, Chairman of “Disability info” NGO, Anush Poghosyan, Project Coordinator of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights at “Women's Resource Center” NGO.
On September 11, the RA Ministry of Education and Science submitted a draft concept of teaching Russian language in educational institutions implementing general education programs in the Republic of Armenia.
In autumn 2017, the signing of Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement is expected which will give Armenia an opportunity to stand firmer on the political course of the European integration.
September 15 marks International Day of Democracy.
The day was set by the UN General Assembly in 2007. The date is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the first international conference of new and restored democracies, which was celebrated in 2008.
The International Center for Human Development issued a report on the necessity of introducing compulsory medical insurance in Armenia and the obstacles to the process. According to statistical data cited in the report, the number of people who are aware of the need to apply for a doctor's care but they do not is increasing year by year in Armenia.
