On December 18, The Partnership for Open Society Initiative held a public discussion entitled “The Role of the Civil Society in Developing Public Policy Agenda and Ensuring Accountable Governance in Armenia.”
For the first time in Armenia an online Master's education is provided. Public Administration Academy of RA and International Scientific-Educational Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Republic of Armenia jointly launched the “Online Master’s Program With Joint Diplomas” Project.
A press conference entitled “Design and Marketing of Museum Education Programs” was held by Media Center at the Russian Art Museum on November 21. The first regional training will be held for the museums of Armenia, Artsakh, Georgia, Iran and Jordan on the topic of "Design and Marketing of Museum Education Programs" in Yerevan on November 22-25, 2017.
During the discussion entitled “Students and Labor Market: Professional Orientation Issues and Labor Market Requirements” held at Media Center on November 16, Misha Tadevosyan, Member of Education Civic Initiative, Education Expert, speaking about the transfer of knowledge in the higher education system and the demands of the labor market, underlined the ideology of “outdated knowledge”.
“We need very sharp and decisive steps that should not be limited to external changes,” Ara Atayan, Teacher at “Aregnaz” Educational Center, Lecturer at Yerevan State Linguistic University, said about the current situation of public education.
During the last week, textbooks on "Informatics" taught in secondary schools have become the subject of discussions in the social media. Social media users have made critical comments on the program of the subject, textbook content and the way of teaching it.
