“Citizen-Observer” Submitted 50 Complaints to the CEC about the Election Violations

During the Parliamentary elections on April 2, 2017, 3112 observers of "Citizen Observer" initiative conducted an observation mission from early morning in 1521 polling stations. 

The legal team of the initiative has started the appeal process based on 1,000 violations identified by the observers. Lusine Hakobyan, Member of the “Citizen-Observer” Initiative, at Media Center on April 14. 

The press conference of “Citizen-Observer” Initiative was about the appeal process in the post-electoral stage.

As Hakobyan said, 325 appeals have been filed in 37 District Electoral Commissions on April 3 and 4 (the appeal has not been submitted only to the 6th District Electoral Commissions. 167 of the other complaints refer to violations of objective election rights, and 158 are subjective. “There were many barriers that hindered the effectiveness of the appeal, due to the laws and activities of the electoral commissions,” he said, noting the constraints of the law.
