The New Tax Code Could Deepen the Distrust Between Taxpayers and the State. Experts

The new Draft Tax Code has been at the core of criticism among public, political and professional circles but was adopted by the first reading at the National Assembly. In fact, it is the constitution of the business world and it needs significant corrections and conceptual changes. This document, which stipulates some tax increases, and in the case of salaries of more than 1 million AMD applies a progressive tax, may result in incomplete declaration of taxpayers. In other words, it can foster the enlargement of the shadow while it is necessary to increase the tax base by reducing tax types and rates. The experts said this who participated in the discussion on “The New Tax Code Draft and the Challenges of the Economy”. at Media Center on June 30.
