Public Discussion. Draft of New Electoral Code and Issues of Realization of Electoral Right in Armenia
A public discussion entitled “Draft of New Electoral Code and Issues of Realization of Electoral Right in Armenia” was at the Congress Hotel, Yerevan.

The speakers included: Avetik Ishkhanyan, Helsinki Committee of Armenia, President; Artur Sakunts, Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly–Vanadzor, Chairman; Heriknaz Tigranyan, Transparency International Anti-Corruption Center, Legal Advisor; and Levon Barseghyan, Journalists’ Club “Asparez”, Chairman.

The public discussion brought together Armenian officials, lawmakers, ambassadors, representatives of political parties and international organizations, civil society and media.

The Partnership for Open Society Initiative represents more than 60 civil society organizations.

The event aims to create a forum for discussion and debate among all interested stakeholders on the new Electoral Code and to make the drafting process more participatory.
