The issues in the border communities within the Tavush Region require an urgent solution. “We have visited Aygepar, Movses and Nerkin Karmir Aghbyur and now we have to voice the existing problems, expecting the authorities’ urgent response since these problems may bring about irreversible consequences on the reliability of our state borders.”

The members of “Let’s Support Border Communities” Civic Initiative discussed their visit to the three communities in Tavush Region on August 24, noting that after learning more about the situation in these villages and their problems, they concluded that such issues are “urgent and essential” and require the government’s assistance.

The speakers included members of the civic initiative Shogher Babayan, Sophia Hovsepyan, Tigran Martirosyan and Gor Arakelyan. They spoke on their intention to file a letter to the RA Prime Minister and Minister of Education and their eagerness to support the communities by organizing cultural events for locals.

The civic initiative involves 20 Armenian citizens while more than 200 people joined the Facebook page of the initiative.
