“A number of articles of accumulative pension system were being contested in the Constitutional Court, regarding this we assess the assessment given by the Constitutional Court as positive”,- said the member of “Dem!em” initiative David Manukyan today at the press conference taken place at “Media Center”.

Hakob Arshakyan noted that even now people are free to decide whether to pay the money or not: “As only 5.000 people chose funds, this means that 120.000 people, namely 97%, did not do that. Taking this into consideration, we must immediately repeal the law, switch to the previous system and return the money to people”.

The member of the initiative David Davtyan thinks that the Constitutional Court does not play a crucial part in the solution of this problem: “The Constitutional Court confirmed our statements from a legal point of view saying that these points are unconstitutional. But no solution was given to this problem from the social point of view”.

“Dem!em” movement urges the citizens to immediately fill out the designed forms and send them to the corresponding legal authorities notifying them about their decision not to join the accumulative pension system.

“One of the forms should be sent to Central Depository, to the Ministry of Finance and to the Central Bank. The second form should be sent to the employer from the employee. Based on the latter, the employer can apply to Ministry of Finance and State Revenue Committee for changing the form of submission of reports”,- David Manukyan explained.

David Davtyan noted that the struggle does not end with forms alone: “We must go out there and fight for it. There is a possibility to find solutions”.

“I’m against” initiative also raised the issue of responsibility. David Manukyan stated that before accepting the law it is reviewed both by the Presidential Staff and by the Ministry of Justice: “Now we raise the issue of responsibility. Where have been those departments in the last 10 years of the development of this law, when such a slovenly and unconstitutional law reaches the National Assembly, is confirmed there and is even signed by the President?”

Referring to Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan’s resignation the members of “Dem!em” initiative noted that this issue has never been in their agenda and that resignation cannot affect “Dem!em” movement.

The members of the initiative notified that they plan a meeting on April 12 at 14:00 near Matenadaran. Until then there will be car marches and other awareness campaigns.

On April 5 a press conference of “Dem!em” initiativetook place at the“Media Center”.The speakers of the press conference included members of “I’m against” initiative David Manukyan, David Davtyan and Hakob Arshakyan.
